The series, fittingly entitled 'Cages,' resembles a place of imprisonment. Though it may be an intimidating aesthetic, the cages are in fact really handy, as books can be slid through the bars, while larger items can be placed inside through the removal of the top piece. The rationale behind Jorge Diego Etienne's design is described on his website, as he states that, "cages provoke a dialogue about which is safer, being in or outside lockup, breaking expectations for what an occasional table's function is." Available in two varying sizes, the powder-coated steel containers are sure to keep everything locked up. Each table comes in either a bright yellow or a rich black. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Cage-like Furniture:** Exploring the trend of cage-like furniture designs that combine aesthetics with practicality. - **Multipurpose Storage:** The rise of furniture designs that offer multifunctional storage solutions to declutter living spaces. - **Provocative Aesthetics:** Designs that challenge traditional expectations of furniture aesthetics and provoke dialogue. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity for furniture manufacturers to create innovative and functional designs inspired by cage-like coffee tables. - **Home Decor:** Innovative home decor companies can incorporate cage-like furniture designs to offer unique and stylish storage solutions. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can utilize cage-like furniture to add a visually striking element and spark conversations in their designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Book Storage Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-coffee-table.md) - [Curvaceous Animalistic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookpet-coffee-table.md) - [Paper-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoon-coffee-table.md) - [Bent Steel Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/creu-coffee-table.md) - [Love Lock-Inspired Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/4e-coffee-table.md) - [Japandi-Style Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloth-coffee-table.md) - [Industrial All-Metal Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lockwerk-coffee-table.md) - [Cobra-Inspired Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cobra-table.md) - [Optically-Designed Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enigma-coffee-tables.md)
