The Jordan Olivenöl extra virgin olive oil has announced new product packaging for German supermarket REWE that will help the brand to transition to a [low-carbon alternative](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lowcarbon-aluminum). The packaging comes in the form of the Frugal bottle from [Frugalpac](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mother-of-pearl-vodka) that's crafted out of 94% recycled cardboard to have it weigh in at 83-grams, which is roughly five-times lighter than a glass equivalent. The bottle features a bespoke, drip-free pourer that has been optimized to the viscosity of olive oil, and will also maximize flavor and shelf life thanks to its total light block design.

Olive Farmer Bastian Jordan commented on the use of the Frugal bottle for Jordan Olivenöl extra virgin olive oil saying, "We can’t replace all glass bottles and canisters overnight. But we can start today. The paper bottle is our way of doing that without compromising on the product.”
