First we got Joan Didion's Celine campaign, now we have Joni Mitchell's New York Magazine spread; it kind of makes you wonder if the ageism of the entertainment industry is being addressed.
That might be a tall order for Hollywood (and the fashion world), but the fact remains that it's incredibly refreshing to see someone other than a tan, taut teeny-bopper staring back at us from the cover of New York Magazine, or any other publication, for that matter. Instead, we're being treated to the "original folk-goddess muse" herself!
The accompanying interview is almost better than the images. The legendary musician reveals her no-nonsense, badass attitude, as is evidenced by her take on country-turned-pop music darling Taylor Swift: "I don’t know what her music sounds like, but I do know that if she’s going to sing and play me, good luck."
