These beautiful art pieces are a symbol of endless journeys and animal freedom, as they feature birds flying across maps and natural history books. These dioramas are gracefully framed in [wooden boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/box-set), which give each piece a solid skeleton. Dilnot takes diverse objects like maps, books and tree branches and clipped illustrations of wild winged friends like owls, butterflies, woodpeckers and many more avian species. The result is fascinating as he arranges, in some of his boxes, the birds flying above the maps, giving the idea to audiences of an infinite trip. Intriguing and gorgeous, the dioramas by John Dilnot are metaphorical representations of life. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Miniature Sculptures:** Opportunity for innovative art pieces that combine different materials and themes. - **Birds and Cartography:** Potential for creations that merge the beauty of birds with the art of mapmaking. - **Dioramas in Wooden Boxes:** Possibility for unique artistic displays that captivate viewers with their intricate designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** A chance for artists to experiment with new forms and materials. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity to create visually stunning and conversation-starting decorative pieces for homes. - **Travel and Tourism:** Potential to use bird and map imagery to evoke wanderlust and inspire travelers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Geometric Sculpture Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illusion-box.md) - [Modernism Birdhouse Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dwellings-project.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Intricate Resin Hand-Painted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snh003.md) - [Geometric Wooden Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aleph-geddis.md) - [Intersecting Dimensional Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diorama.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md)
