Madrid design studio [Lucas y Hernández-Gil](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lucas-museum-of-narrative-arts) completes a family home in the form of the JJ16 apartment located in the [Salamanca district in Madrid](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burr-studio-1). The home features three bedrooms and prior to the new build, it was used as an office. The studio converts the property into a residence for a family including a mother, her three teenage children, and their dog.

Founders of the design studio, Cristina Dominguez Lucas and Fermanado Hernandez-Gil Ruano speak to Dezeen about the design project. They state, "Everyone had a clear idea of what they needed, which translated directly into the spaces. Far from generating a conflict, [different colours and materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/highdensity-residential-design) give the house a richness, a harmonic heterogeneity."
