# Kaleidoscopic Light Paintings Artist Jeremy Jackson Creates Mind-Boggling Intricate Scenes By Meghan Young | Published 2014-01-29 | Fashion Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeremy-jackson References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/jeremy-jackson-light-paintings) & [tackyshack.net](http://www.tackyshack.net/) It would be easy for a person to dismiss the work of Jeremy Jackson as Photoshop creations. Yet that is not the case at all. The only editing that takes place is rotating and cropping the images, if that. Instead, each of Jeremy Jackson's visual [works of art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition) were created with light and the long exposure of a camera. This is utterly impressive considering how intricate each [light painting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light) is. Based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Jeremy Jackson (also known as Tacky) has been creating such breathtaking [kaleidoscopic scenes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shen-sculpture) since late 2008. He states, "The techniques are endless. The world is your canvas. Anything you can imagine can be painted a million different ways." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Long Exposure Photography:** Utilizing long exposure photography techniques in creating intricate light paintings. - **Digital Art:** Adoption of digital art and its techniques to create mind-boggling scenes and artwork. - **Light Art:** The rise of light art and its versatility in painting with light. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Fine Art:** Incorporating long exposure photography and light painting techniques in fine art and experimental compositions. - **Advertising and Marketing:** The captivating and imaginative nature of light paintings makes it a perfect tool for advertising and marketing campaigns. - **Event and Entertainment:** Incorporating light paintings in events and entertainment productions, creating stunning visual displays. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Festive Light Painting Techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-painting-1.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Immersive Light Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Interactive Colorful Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-hockney-bigger-closer.md) - [Futuristic Totemic Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-relics.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Immersive Light Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch.md) - [Tree Branch-Formed Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celestial-attraction.md)
