Shameless Maya, the alias of Toronto-born, New York-based Maya Washington puts her own spin on a soon-to-be live action '80s-inspired movie with her #JemtheMovie Dance Off video. Taking on the character of one of the Holograms, Shana Elmsford, she transforms into a music diva with the help of a [curly lilac wig](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/girls-nite-out) and some funky [vintage outfits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beis-ercise).

In the #JemtheMovie Dance Off video, Shana is seen battling with a dancing thief to get her purse back. She pulls out the some magical bursts of sparkles and a couple of powerful drum sticks to finish him off before heading off to enjoy the rest of her day--hopefully free of drama. The video was directed by Shannon T. Boodram, [choreographed by Liinda Garisto](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gap-and-parker-posey) and written by Maya herself.
