It is one of four designs intended to expand the way we think about this important bit of equipment. The other three include the router clock that displays the best time to use your wireless connection based on signal strength availability, the [hybrid router that functions as furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-router) and the energy saving router that turns itself off when relieved of all its keys. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Communal Ethernet Routers:** Opportunity to develop shared connectivity solutions for communities and enhance internet access in public spaces. - **Smart Router Clocks:** Potential to create routers that optimize wireless connection usage based on signal strength, improving overall internet performance. - **Energy Saving Routers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to design routers with self-turnoff features to conserve energy when not in use. ### Who This Affects Most - **Telecommunications:** Expanding the possibilities of communal routers and smart clock routers can revolutionize the telecommunications industry. - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity to integrate router functionality into furniture, creating multi-purpose designs that enhance the user experience. - **Green Technology:** Energy-saving routers can contribute to the growth of the green technology industry by promoting sustainable practices in the tech sector. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Wifi Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-x3-pro-wifi.md) - [Minimalist Circular Router Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/island-router.md) - [Interchangeable Cover Networking Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-wifi-router.md) - [Jellyfish-Inspired Interactive Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jellyfish-robot.md) - [Customizable Network Router Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wifi-router-1.md) - [Advanced Avian-Inspired Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dlink-aquila-pro-ai-m95.md) - [Wall Art Mesh Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcl-ultrathin-mesh-router.md) - [Recycled Plastic Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yes.md) - [Family-Focused Networking Routers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jextream-fx20.md)
