The powerful, three-inch smartphone boasts a transparent back panel, an LSD light and advanced features, all in a size that fits in the palm like a credit card. At a time when many smartphones are getting bigger, Unihertz saw an opportunity to better serve mobile device users with a more compact, yet no less powerful, alternative. With an Octa-Core 6nm MediaTek [Helio G99](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackview-n6000) processor, this smartphone makes it easy to carry out daily functionalities and capture special moments with a 48-megapixel main camera—and for those who need more, there's also the option to add a Micro SD card to the Jelly Star's hybrid dual SIM slot. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 16% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Compact Smartphones:** The trend of compact smartphones offers an opportunity for manufacturers to create powerful devices in a smaller form factor. - **Miniaturization:** The increasing popularity of miniaturized smartphones presents opportunities for companies to innovate and design smaller, yet feature-rich, devices. - **Crowdfunding Success:** The success of Jelly Star on Kickstarter demonstrates the potential for crowdfunding platforms to launch and fund innovative smartphone projects. ### Where This Applies - **Mobile Devices:** The compact smartphone trend opens up new markets and opportunities for mobile device manufacturers to target consumers seeking smaller, portable devices. - **Electronics Manufacturing:** The demand for compact smartphones creates a disruptive opportunity for electronics manufacturers to develop innovative manufacturing processes and technologies to produce smaller devices without compromising performance. - **Crowdfunding Platforms:** The rapid funding of Jelly Star on Kickstarter showcases the potential for crowdfunding platforms to support and accelerate the development of disruptive smartphone projects, making them a key industry for entrepreneurs and innovators to consider. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifunctional Handheld Gaming Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unihertz-jelly-star.md) - [Compact 5G Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jelly-max.md) - [Micro-Sized Smartphone Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanophone.md) - [Card-Sized AI Phones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindone-smartphone.md) - [Micro-Sized Alt Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-2a-micro.md) - [Innovative Compact Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-smartphone.md) - [Diminutive Flagship Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oneplus-13s.md) - [Mini-Sized Alternative Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cmf-phone-mini.md) - [Mini Transparent Smartphone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-mini-phone.md)
