# Realistic Musician Hand Renderings Jeff Bartels Pays Tribute to Talented Instrument Players By Jason Soy | Published 2012-05-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeff-bartels References: [sweet-station](http://sweet-station.com/blog/2012/05/jeff-bartels/) & [jeffbartels](http://www.jeffbartels.com/paintings.html) Though [photorealistic rendering](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawing-series) isn’t particularly new to the world of art, Jeff Bartels manages to use his amazing technical skills in a way that isn’t commonly seen. In this particular series, he’s illustrated the hands and instruments of musicians passionately wailing away on their preferred music maker. He captures these special moments from intimate angles that are almost voyeuristic. The interaction between hands and instruments is thus pushed to the forefront, giving audiences a unique viewing experience unlike any other. It would be an injustice to Jeff Bartels if I were to talk about his work without mentioning his attention to detail. From the creases in the skin to the [reflections on brass surfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virtual-trumpet), Bartels’ renderings are so astounding that you’ll likely think they're black and white photos on first glance. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Realistic Rendering Art:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation lie in exploring new mediums and materials for photorealistic art. - **Intimate Perspective Illustration:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation lie in capturing everyday life moments from unique and intimate perspectives. - **Detailed Hand and Instrument Art:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation lie in exploring new techniques to achieve realistic depictions of hands and musical instruments. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation lie in integrating technology and traditional techniques to create unique and stunning art pieces. - **Music:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation lie in creating visual representations of the emotional and physical connection between musicians and their instruments. - **Photography:** Opportunities for disruptive innovation lie in exploring new angles and perspectives to capture intimate moments and emotions in photography. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hyperrealistic Musician Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blitzway-kurt-cobain-figurine.md) - [Playful Balloon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keff-joons.md) - [Musician-Inspired Textural Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jura-collection.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Music-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-chair1.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Shreddable Steampunk Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-guitar.md) - [Raw Sports Emotion Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-exhibition.md)
