Perhaps the most common gripe many people had with the previous version of the MINI convertible is the fact that it wasn't really catered towards people who want to have their cake and eat it too, as in people who both want to enjoy the fresh air of a convertible as well as top-notch speed. This is what prompted the creation of the [John Cooper Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-john-cooper-works-1to6-edition) Convertible version of the MINI. This vehicle is equipped with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is capable of pumping out 231 horsepower. Ultimately, this vehicle will appeal to convertible lovers who also have a real need for speed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Turbocharged Convertibles:** The integration of turbocharged engines in convertibles opens up opportunity for powerful and exhilarating driving experiences. - **Catering to Convertible Enthusiasts:** Designing convertibles with a focus on meeting the needs and desires of convertible lovers drives innovation in the automotive industry. - **Combining Speed and Fresh Air:** Creating convertible vehicles that offer both exhilarating speed and the freedom of open-air driving satisfies the desires of performance-oriented individuals. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Automotive:** The automotive industry can leverage turbocharged convertibles to attract driving enthusiasts seeking high-performance vehicles with an open-top experience. - **Recreational Vehicles:** The recreational vehicles industry can explore innovative designs and features to enhance the convertible experience and cater to adventurous consumers. - **Automotive Accessories:** The automotive accessories industry can develop specialized products for turbocharged convertibles, such as wind deflectors or convertible top care kits, to enhance comfort and maintenance. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Special Edition Seaside Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-convertible-seaside-edition.md) - [Mini Motorsport-Honoring Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-john-cooper-works-1to6-edition.md) - [Riproaring Convertible Supercars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/riproaring-convertible-supercar.md) - [Dynamic Electric Car Updates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-countryman.md) - [Electric Engine Upgrading Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-recharged-project.md) - [Hybrid Convertible Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artura-spider.md) - [Compact Classically Inspired Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-spaceman-hatchback.md) - [Ruggedly Sculpted EV Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-countryman-e.md) - [Luxurious Soft-Top Convertibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/granturismo.md)
