Designed by Italy-based Gionata Gatto, the collection consists of two vases and a side table, which are each crafted with a series of perforated aluminum sheets. These sheets will allow [plants to weave their roots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grun-collection) throughout the entire body and merge the metallic components with natural ones. The JCP Universe 'Coloniae' collection was explained further by Gatto who said, "The project is basically a collection of furniture pieces that are perceived as different habitations for a colony. [The furniture] interacts together by compenetrating each other with each piece being designed to host a different plant species."
