# Social Gathering Lights The JazzUp Lamp by Vinicius Raupp Brings People Together By Jessica Marcel | Published 2010-04-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jazzup-lamp References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/jazzup-lamp-by-vinicius-raupp/) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/vraupp) Brazilian designer Vinicius Raupp created the JazzUp lamp as a way to bring together people in a comfortable social setting. The JazzUp lamp looks like a box with half of a [traditional lamp shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jal) cut into it. The light it produces is [soft, but still illuminating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-lamp)--perfect for promoting relaxed conversation. The JazzUp lamp was made so that it can be [used inside or outside](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vl-45-radiohus). That's one feature not many designers consider, so kudos to Vinicius Raupp. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Social Gathering Lights:** Creating products that promote social connection and interaction. - **Soft Illumination:** Optimizing light design for relaxed conversation. - **Indoor-outdoor Lighting:** Developing products that can be used in both indoor and outdoor environments. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting:** Innovating in the lighting industry to promote social connection. - **Furniture:** Designing furniture that integrates lighting for social gathering purposes. - **Home Decor:** Creating home decor items that encourage social interaction and relaxation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Malleable Connected Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu-lamp.md) - [Ambient Aesthetically Pleasing Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Compact Elaborate LED Smart-Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cup-lamp.md) - [Interactive Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp.md) - [Instrument-Inspired Wall Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/louis-collection-by-sara-schoenberger.md) - [Sustainable Solar Portable Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iggy-lamp.md) - [Inflatable Colorful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squeeze-inflatable-lamp.md) - [Music-Inspired Glass Blown Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miles-pendant.md)
