The base of the lamp has two sockets where branchlike "stems" can be screwed into. These attachments have a small shaded lamp on the end of them, as well as another empty socket branching off from it. This means that several lamps can be screwed together to create a [tree of illumination](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapso). Once many lamp limbs are connected, the resulting light resembles a whimsical tree or a glowing coral reef. Javier Alejandre's ChromoSoma Light allows the owner to get [interactive and imaginative](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp) with his lighting, giving him the power to make the best of his own space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Customizable Lighting:** The trend of customizable lighting allows consumers to have more control over their lighting and create personalized designs. - **Expandable Lighting:** The trend of expandable lighting allows consumers to add and switch out light modules to fit their changing needs. - **Branching Lamps:** The trend of branching lamps allows consumers to create unique and playful lighting designs that resemble trees or coral reefs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry has the opportunity to create new and innovative customizable and expandable lighting systems. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can use branching lamps as a new way to create playful and visually interesting lighting designs in homes and businesses. - **Retail:** The retail industry can use customizable and expandable lighting systems as a way to create unique and customizable store displays and experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Shape-Shifting Modular Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moodi.md) - [Interconnecting Component Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-table-lamp.md) - [Plant-Inspired Dynamic Chandeliers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossom-chandelier.md) - [Interactive Blooming Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloomlight-s-lamp.md) - [Foldable Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-folding-lamp.md) - [Artistic Magnetic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scacco-matto-lamp.md) - [Modular LED Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilo-lamp.md) - [Unconventional Modular Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luna-kaleido-series.md) - [Interactive Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangent-lamp.md)
