# Intricate Doodle Portraits Jason Sho Green Creates Drawings Within Drawings By Meghan Young | Published 2011-10-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jason-sho-green References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/incredible-doodle-portraits) & [jasonshogreen.tumblr](http://jasonshogreen.tumblr.com/) The work of Jason Sho Green is incredibly intricate. He doodles drawings within drawings, eventually creating one big portrait reminiscent of the discarded object portrait collages popping up all over the Internet. Created using only a ball-point pen, Jason Sho Green's stunning portraits are actually more like modern-day mosaics than collages. What first appears to be simple shadows creating dimension in the face are actually images of people, creatures, animals and more. It is these little, hidden surprises that make Jason Sho Green's work so enjoyable. Although Jason Sho Green studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, he has since pursued art. His artwork has been exhibited in LA, NYC, Philadelphia, Indianapolis and Seattle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Intricate Doodle Portraits:** Opportunity to innovate by integrating hidden elements within art to create surprise and delight in the viewer. - **Drawings Within Drawings:** Potential to disrupt traditional portrait art by adding multiple layers of depth and complexity. - **Modern-day Mosaics:** Possibility to revolutionize mosaic art by using intricate doodles instead of traditional materials like tiles or stones. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art:** Chance to redefine the boundaries of traditional art methods and mediums. - **Design:** Opportunity to incorporate complex and detailed designs within various products and visual elements. - **Education:** Potential to enhance art education by teaching students how to create layered and intricate designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Doodle-Emblazoned Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sam-cox.md) - [Geometric Wooden Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aleph-geddis.md) - [Realistic Sketch-Reflective Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawing-series.md) - [Abstract Geometric Solo Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impermanent-state-of-being.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Biology-Inspired Porcelain Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [3D-Printed Colorful Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olivier-van-herpt-1.md) - [Intricate Resin Hand-Painted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snh003.md)
