# Gruesome Lip Graphics Jason Levesque Renders Cut and Oozing Mouth Depictions By Jason Soy | Published 2012-01-24 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jason-levesque1 References: [lacarpa.tumblr](http://lacarpa.tumblr.com/post/16179287731/as-bocas-de-jason-levesque-aka-stuntkid#n) & [stuntkid.deviantart](http://stuntkid.deviantart.com/) Jason Levesque is quite well-known for his impressive vector art illustrations, and in this particular collection, he’s chosen gruesome mouths as his muse. Those without strong stomachs may consider these images of [cut lips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lip-embalms) gushing putrid fluids a little too much to handle, but if you can manage to get past all of that, you’ll see illustrations that are masterfully executed by a world-class illustrator. Though Jason Levesque primarily uses vectors to render his images, his work does not at all feel sterile the way most other [vector illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vector-graphics-software) feel. In fact, the way he depicts the ridges and glare from his subjects’ lips is quite realistic despite his patented [cartoonish style](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superflat-animation). He’s even rendered the veins and taste buds of the tongue and the exposed flesh of the cut lip, demonstrating his detail-oriented eye. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Graphic Shockainment:** Artists will expand the boundaries of the acceptable with extreme, confronting and shocking visuals. - **Realistic Caricatures:** Artists will merge realism and caricature to produce striking and unusual images. - **Vector Illustration Upgrade:** Vector artists will integrate more complex elements into their art, moving beyond simple or abstract designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Illustration and Design:** Professional illustrators and graphic designers will have to become more experimental and daring to stay relevant in a competitive market. - **Advertising and Marketing:** Marketing campaigns that use shock-value and push the boundaries of traditional design will attract attention and stand out to consumers. - **Apparel and Fashion:** Brands will use graphic designers to create unique, boundary-pushing designs for clothing and accessories that will appeal to younger, more daring audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Coagulating Lip Oils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kiss-of-death-lip-oils.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Scientifically-Accurate Glass Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-microbiology.md) - [Health Object Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/out-of-orifice.md) - [Abstract Geometric Solo Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impermanent-state-of-being.md) - [Laser-Cut Urban Artistry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/laser-cut-city-maps.md) - [Distorted Furniture Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-kiss-at-last-light.md)
