# Natatonial Miniature Scene Photography Jason Isley Created Humorous Scenarios with Toys Underwater By Simal Yilmaz | Published 2013-03-11 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jason-isley References: [visualnews](http://www.visualnews.com/2013/03/07/real-underwater-humor-without-photoshop/) & [scubazoo](http://www.scubazoo.com/about/the-team/jason-isley-underwater-photographer/) Jason Isley certainly has an admirable sense of humor. As an [underwater photographer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alastair-philip-wiper), he doesn't merely record what he observes but rather, creates fictional scenarios using [miniature toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/world-of-miniverse) in appropriate settings and photographs the comedic moments that emerge. Some examples of the scenarios he created are of a sea slug getting a speeding ticket, an angry fish yelling at a toy gardener to get out of her garden and humans getting attacked by a giant fish monster. The photographing of this series predictably required a lot of patience as one cannot exactly direct sea slugs through role play. The artist explained, "I came across the work of Christopher Boffoli and Slinkachu who had both used [miniatures in still-life sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintage-billiards-table) and suddenly thought ‘what if you actually shot them with living creatures?" ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Miniature Scene Photography:** Unlocking the potential of creating humorous and imaginative scenarios using miniature toys in various settings, opening up new opportunities for storytelling and visual art. - **Underwater Photography:** Exploring the underwater world as a canvas for creative expression, capturing unique moments and perspectives that evoke emotion and transcend traditional photography. - **Integration of Living Creatures:** Incorporating living creatures into miniature scenes, blurring the line between reality and fantasy and creating unexpected encounters that mesmerize and entertain. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Integrating miniature scene photography into commercial and artistic ventures, offering a fresh and innovative approach to visual storytelling. - **Toy Manufacturing:** Collaborating with miniature scene photographers to create custom toy sets and figurines, expanding the market for imaginative play and collectible items. - **Art and Design:** Exploring the integration of miniatures and living creatures in art installations, exhibitions, and interior design, pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sea-Inspired Mini Sculpture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sculptures.md) - [Collectible Mini Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/photo-creator-mini-cam.md) - [Kinetic Reef Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-tropical-aquarium.md) - [Fish Tank-Inspired Japanese Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nao-iwanari.md) - [Tiny Pet Habitat Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miniverse-make-it-mini-animals.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Adorable Mini Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-digital-toy-camera.md) - [Celebratory Cinematic Toy Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jada-toys-jurassic-park-30th-anniversary-nano-scene.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md)
