Yes, you read that right, the bizarre party involves ordering an obscene amount of McDonald's fries, emptying as many bags as you can on the table and eating until your tummy hurts. This bizarre fad has been sweeping across South Korea and Japan ever since McDonald's Japan slashed the price of their large fries at stores late last year. This resulted in a group of opportunistic teens posting a picture on Twitter of their 23 cartons of fries. After this was retweeted thousands of times, teenagers in south Korea began tweeting pictures of them eating 40 and even 60 cartons of McDonald's fries. This extreme fast food craze shows just how quickly niche fads can escalate using the power of social media. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.3/10 - Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Urban Geisha Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elle-vietnam-may-2013.md) - [Charming Kokeshi-Styled Matches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/japanese-matches.md) - [Delicate Cascaded Paper Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yuko-takada-keller.md) - [Fishy Desert Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ice-cream-sushi.md) - [Wire Frame Flower Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-vase.md) - [Ride-Able Mecha Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-robot.md) - [Veggie-Inspired Hairdos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripe-tomato.md) - [Designer Rodent Ensembles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pets-fashion.md) - [Monster Mashed Fantasy Banners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-of-thrones-banners.md) - [Odd Feline Sushi Pairings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sushi-cats.md)
