In these works she makes waxlike sculptures of people. The people are reminiscent of [wax dripping off a candlestick](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/michle-lamy), and are eerie and fascinating at the same time. The statues look like real people that have been encapsulated in pounds of melting wax. These sculptures aren't miniature, either: Jane Moseley took the time to make an [entire human body](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/queen-elizabeth-ii-1). Even a child is portrayed, although it looks like it is running away from something. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Realistic Wax Sculptures:** An opportunity for disruptive innovation lies in creating hyper-realistic wax sculptures using advanced materials and techniques. - **Eerie Art Forms:** Exploring the creation of unsettling and captivating art forms through unconventional mediums offers a chance for disruptive innovation. - **Life-sized Wax Figures:** Reimagining the display of life-sized wax figures with interactive elements and multimedia integration presents a disruptive innovation opportunity. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Sculpture:** The art and sculpture industry can benefit from adopting new technologies and materials to push the boundaries of traditional craftsmanship. - **Museums and Galleries:** Museums and galleries have the potential to enhance visitor experiences by incorporating interactive displays and immersive installations into their exhibitions. - **Special Effects and Film Industry:** The special effects and film industry can explore the application of hyper-realistic wax sculptures in creating lifelike characters and immersive environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Striking Sculptural Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpture-candle.md) - [Human Torso-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lene-bdker.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Plant-Based Wax Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-solids-1.md) - [Human Hair-Made Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/range-of-pots.md) - [Fantasy Sculptural Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chris-wolston.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md)
