Entitled ‘Devotion,’ this mesmerizing installation took three years to be completed. Making around ten flowers a day, Roper collected enough cranes to design a [large paper piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti). Colorful and full of meaning, ‘Devotion’ was inspired by Hinduism. “The title refers to the act of creating it itself as well as religious practices found in Hinduism, the [repetitive practice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/genjik) of mantras and the flowers used in devotional ceremonies,” declares the artist. The origami artwork by James Roper is a beautiful display of color and good wishes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Origami Art:** The trend of creating intricate origami artworks is on the rise, offering opportunities for artists to explore new techniques and designs. - **Hindu-inspired Art:** Artists are finding inspiration in Hinduism, leading to the creation of unique pieces that incorporate symbolism and religious elements. - **Slow Art Movement:** The slow and meticulous process of creating origami artworks, such as James Roper's installation, reflects a growing trend towards art that requires patience and dedication. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can embrace the trend of origami art by showcasing and supporting artists who specialize in this intricate form of expression. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can tap into the Hindu-inspired art trend by offering products that incorporate Hindu symbolism and motifs, appealing to consumers looking for unique and meaningful decor pieces. - **Wellness and Meditation:** The wellness and meditation industry can explore the connection between origami art and mindfulness, highlighting the therapeutic benefits and promoting origami as a meditative practice. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-series.md) - [Folded Paper Figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clara-von-zweibergk.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Origami-Inspired Steel Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflector-sculpture.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Intricate Site-Specific Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-time.md) - [Paper-Made Origami Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hanging-origami-lamp.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md)
