Dahlstrup used a [tattoo machine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tattoo-design-platforms) and drew a [three-dimensional outline](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti) of a large skull surrounded by flowers on heavy water-color paper. Even without color, the technique shows the detail and time to achieve the 3D effect. It took Dahlstrip 38 days and about 100 hours to complete this artistic piece. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 42% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **3D Tattoo Art:** Exploring the use of tattoo machines to create three-dimensional designs on different mediums like paper. - **Detailed Tattoo Techniques:** Developing intricate tattooing methods to capture high levels of detail and realism. - **Alternative Tattoo Mediums:** Exploring unconventional mediums such as water-color paper for tattoo artists to showcase their creativity. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for tattoo artists to expand their artistic offerings and appeal to a wider audience. - **Tattoo Equipment and Supplies:** Demand for specialized tattoo machines and tools that can create intricate designs with precision. - **Paper and Stationery:** Collaborations between tattoo artists and paper companies to create unique products and art pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Online Tattoo Art Marketplaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackdot.md) - [Palm-Sized Tattoo Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temporary-tattoo-device.md) - [AI-Powered Tattoo Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackdot-device.md) - [Generative Art Tattoo Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackdot-1.md) - [AI Tattoo Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sketch-tattoo-ai.md) - [Custom Tattoo Design Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-tattoo-generator1.md) - [Interactive Tattoo Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inkstory.md) - [Glow-in-the-Dark Temporary Tattoos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-glowing-garden-tattoo-sheet.md) - [Custom Tattoo Designers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-tattoo-generator2.md)
