# Hard Drive Depicts Data Storage on OLED Art Ivy By De Groene Banaan By Elit Alice | Published 2008-01-01 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ivy-by-de-groene-banaan References: [elitalice](http://www.elitalice.com/2007/12/31/ivy-external-hard-drive/lang-pref/en/) & [degroenebanaan.nl](http://www.degroenebanaan.nl/) Picture the green banana; the fruit you buy thinking it will turn yellow and ripe. That's the thought process behind the artist approach being applied by the Dutch company, [De Groene Banaan](http://www.degroenebanaan.nl). This is the idea that inspired their product named Ivy. It is an external hard drive, with an OLED screen. It's easy to guess: when you start using it, it will alter its skin to depict the content of the hard disk. That means the pattern is always personal: it is created by the actual data, so it will be different every time you upload something new on it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Personalized Data Storage:** The Ivy hard drive presents an opportunity for personalized data storage by dynamically altering its skin to reflect the content of the hard disk. - **OLED Integration:** The integration of OLED screens into external hard drives offers a disruptive innovation opportunity for enhanced visual representation of data. - **Dynamic Data Visualization:** The Ivy hard drive's ability to create unique patterns based on the actual data presents a trend for dynamic data visualization. ### Who This Affects Most - **Technology:** The technology industry can leverage personalized data storage solutions like the Ivy hard drive to enhance data management and user experience. - **Art and Design:** The integration of OLED screens in artistic creations or products like the Ivy hard drive opens up new possibilities for creative expression. - **Data Storage:** The data storage industry can explore the trend of dynamic data visualization through innovative products like the Ivy hard drive. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Folder-Shaped Hard Drive Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folder-external-hard-disk.md) - [Shipping Container Storage Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cargo-hard-drive1.md) - [Playful External Hard-Disk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cargo-hard-drive.md) - [Desk-Mounted Hard Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hard-drive-concept.md) - [Sci-Fi-Themed Hard Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firecuda-external-hard-drives.md) - [Skeletal Celebratory Hard Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buffalo-skeleton-hard-disk.md) - [Icon-Shaped USB Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folderdrive.md) - [Biodegradable Storage Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-drive1.md) - [Charming Retro Storage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floppy-disk-inspired-sd-card.md)
