# Bendy Headboards The Italian Contemporary Bed is Perfect for Reading and Watching Tv By Meghan Young | Published 2009-12-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/italian-contemporary-bed References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/003991.html) & [bolzanletti.it](http://www.bolzanletti.it/collection/letti_contemporanei/paciugo.html) Although beds are made for sleeping, a lot more happens between those slumbering sheets (get your head out of the gutter). For instance, one of these non-sleeping activities includes reading, and this usually entails lounging upright. With the Italian Contemporary Bed, you’ll have the option to position yourself more comfortably. Designed by [Bolzan Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-bed), the Italian Contemporary Bed features a [headboard that bends over](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-purifying-headboard) to create a sloping backrest perfect for leaning on to read or watch TV. The bed is dubbed Paciugo--keep that name in mind when shopping around for your new bed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 28% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Adjustable Headboards:** Opportunity to design and produce adjustable headboards that provide more comfort and versatility to users. - **Multi-functional Beds:** Opportunity to create beds that serve more than just a sleeping purpose for customers. - **Smart Beds:** Opportunity to add technology features to beds such as built-in speakers, charging ports and voice commands. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** The furniture industry could produce more innovative beds with multi-functional features. - **Technology:** Technology companies could design and add smart features to beds for a more convenient user experience. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers could incorporate adjustable headboards and multi-functional beds into their designs for clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ergonomic Gaming-Centric Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drift-gaming-bed.md) - [Vienna Straw Headboard Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiko-wien-bed.md) - [Relaxing Dual Leg-Framed Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wabi-bed.md) - [Chic Curved Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedroom-furniture.md) - [Modern Comfort-Centric Rounded Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roundish-bed.md) - [Adjustable Bed Bases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adjustable-bed-base-s5.md) - [Timeless Panelled Oak Headboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nima-bed.md) - [Built-In Sensor Smart Headboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-head.md) - [High-End Sound System Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/savoir-x-kef-seventy-five.md)
