# Suspended Table Settings Itadakimasu Dishes Serve up an Unusual Storage Alternative By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-08-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/itadakimasu-dishes References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/ahsayane/frame/509789) People have been hanging their pots and pans in kitchens for longer than anyone can remember, and now Itadakimasu Dishes endeavor to be treated the same. Designer Marcial Ahsayane has conceived an elegant square plate with a single pierced tab in one corner to accomplish this. The beautiful [ceramic bowl](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trasa-home) embodies a contemporary aesthetic thanks to its highly geometric and beveled form, not unlike the lid of a take-out styrofoam container. Its [high-gloss porcelain finish](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita) succeeds however to give it a sophisticated appearance. In a way, the quality of the crockery may remain understated chic as far as its storage method is concerned. Itadakimasu Dishes can be hung from [diamond mount metal hooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grip-hanger) against the wall, bringing domestic bits and pieces out of the cabinetry and into plain sight. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Vertical Storage:** Opportunities for businesses to create new and innovative storage solutions for household items. - **Contemporary Ceramics:** Opportunities for businesses to incorporate modern design elements into traditional ceramic dishware. - **Geometric Shapes:** Opportunities for businesses to create products with unique and unconventional shapes that appeal to consumers. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Opportunities for businesses to provide creative and unique storage solutions for consumers looking to organize their homes. - **Kitchenware:** Opportunities for businesses to create innovative and functional dishware that incorporates modern design elements. - **Ceramics:** Opportunities for businesses to experiment with shapes and finishes to create contemporary and sophisticated ceramic products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flat-Packed Sleek Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aurea.md) - [Chic Stackable Tableware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tableware-ecosystem.md) - [Bag-Friendly Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dtn-table.md) - [Sculptural Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-of-tangible-spaces.md) - [Modular Serving Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermal-serving-dish.md) - [Playful Storage Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/berto-hidden-secrets.md) - [Revived Mid-Century Serveware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortugaware.md) - [Creative Dipping Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dip-sea.md) - [Space-Saving Cookwear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-cookware.md)
