First of all, it sleekly integrates a person's smartphone so as to act as a [charging station](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/engrid-desk-lamp) when a person is working away at their desk. Secondly, the actual light source takes on the form of a camera lens that can be adjusted by zooming it in and out. Designed by Michael Samoriz, the iSpot Table Lamp could easily pass for a modern microscope that uses the [iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/g4-charger) to better read the data picked up by the lens. Of course, that is not the case at all. As simple as it is sleek, the iSpot Table Lamp essentially brings a different aesthetic into the home. It suits contemporary spaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Integrated Smartphone Charging:** The iSpot Table Lamp showcases the trend of integrating charging functionality for smartphones into everyday objects, creating opportunities for disruption in home and office lighting design. - **Camera Lens Inspired Design:** The use of a camera lens as the light source in the iSpot Table Lamp highlights the trend of incorporating unconventional design elements into lighting fixtures, presenting opportunities for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry. - **Sleek and Contemporary Aesthetics:** The iSpot Table Lamp's sleek and modern design reflects the trend of incorporating minimalist and contemporary aesthetics into home decor, providing opportunities for disruption in the furniture and interior design industries. ### Where This Applies - **Home Lighting Design:** The integration of smartphone charging functionality in lighting fixtures like the iSpot Table Lamp presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the home lighting design industry. - **Lighting Industry:** The use of unconventional design elements, such as a camera lens as a light source, in products like the iSpot Table Lamp offers opportunities for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry. - **Furniture and Interior Design:** The iSpot Table Lamp's sleek and contemporary aesthetics open up possibilities for disruptive innovation in the furniture and interior design industries by incorporating minimalist design elements into home decor. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artistic Tech-Charging Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/combi-table-lamp.md) - [Minimalist High-Tech Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/momax.md) - [Study Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/check-mate-2.md) - [Portable Camera-Equipped Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ilma-lamp.md) - [Sleek Smart Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindduo-2.md) - [Nautically Themed Metallic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/khonsu-clock-lamp.md) - [Ambient Illumination Tech Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-wireless-charger.md) - [Supplemental Desktop Computer Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/workmate-smart-lamp.md) - [3-in-1 Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biancinoti.md)
