The pictures she reworks are originally [vintage photographs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/image-painter) which have been updated with watercolors and pencil, hence the weathered finish that one finds within each of her pieces. These Greenfield-Sanders paintings have also all been mounted onto tiles, giving way to a shiny, [gloss finish](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-portraits). This glossy element further stems from her use of oils which provide the final casing for the designs, imbuing them with even greater artistic value. The theme of memory is also present in the portfolio of Greenfield-Sanders. By portraying relatable landscapes such as beaches and pools, she hopes that viewers will in some way relate to the scenes in a personal manner. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Customization](https://www.trendhunter.com/customization) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Reworked Vintage Art:** The merging of vintage photographs with new art forms presents an opportunity for innovative artistic expression. - **Mixed Media Painting:** Using watercolors, pencil, and oils, artists can create unique and weathered finishes that add depth and artistic value to their work. - **Memory-inspired Art:** The incorporation of relatable landscapes in paintings aims to evoke personal connections and nostalgia in viewers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Fine Art:** Artists can explore innovative techniques and mediums to create unique and captivating works for collectors and galleries. - **Interior Design:** The use of reworked vintage snapshots in mixed media paintings offers a creative way to add character and nostalgia to interior spaces. - **Art Education:** The combination of old and new art forms can inspire students and educators to explore innovative techniques and push the boundaries of traditional art education. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Hand-Painted Watercolor Prints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emma-webster.md) - [Oil Painting-Inspired Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antonio-santn.md) - [Leftover Househouse Paint Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-drop.md) - [Travel-Inspired Canvas Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-passport-series.md) - [Intricate Fiber Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threadwork-women-redefining-fiber-arts.md) - [Artful Summer Puzzles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slim-aarons-puzzle-collection.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md)
