# Giant Hoop Acrobatics Isaac Hou, The Ring Man, Spins Mesmerizingly and Gymnastically By Meghan Young | Published 2014-06-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/isaac-hou References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2014/06/20/Isaac-Hous-Incredible-Ring-Acrobatics/) Street performers who use hula hoops are often considered impressive, yet Isaac Hou blows them out of the water. Instead of the typical plastic hoops, he uses a metal ring known as a Cyr wheel. And instead of spinning it around his hips, arms and neck, Isaac Hou steps inside the ring like Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man in order to spin around himself. Dubbed the Ring Man, Isaac Hou studied at circus schools in Denmark and Russia to learn his trade. Also a master of contact and torch juggling, he shows the crowd just what the human body is capable of with intense training and discipline. Isaac Hou currently busks in Taipei for tourists and locals. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Live Arts](https://www.trendhunter.com/livearts) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Cyr Wheel Performance:** Opportunity for circus performers to incorporate the Cyr wheel into their acts, creating mesmerizing and gymnastic displays. - **Street Performance Innovation:** Exploration of new and unique props and techniques in street performances to captivate audiences and stand out from traditional hula hoopers. - **Cross-cultural Circus Education:** Increased interest in studying circus arts abroad, combining techniques from different cultures to cultivate diverse and well-rounded performers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Entertainment:** Opportunity for entertainment companies and event organizers to book Cyr wheel performers for shows, festivals, and private events. - **Tourism:** Integration of Cyr wheel performances into city tourism experiences, attracting visitors with unique street performances and cultural entertainment. - **Fitness and Recreation:** Incorporation of Cyr wheel training and classes into fitness studios and recreational centers, offering a fun and unique workout experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [Stunning Spokeless Ferris Wheels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seoul-ring.md) - [Clock-Shaped Wooden Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-installation.md) - [Square-Wheeled Bicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squarewheeled-bicycle.md) - [Triangle-Shaped Bicycle Wheels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triangleshaped-bicycle.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Ring-Shaped Open-Air Amphitheaters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luhu-ring-of-starlight.md) - [Spatial Video Exercise Bicycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holobike.md)
