The feature works by allowing the smartphone to display the time, date, photos and even widgets when positioned on a [MagSafe charging stand](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lisen-magsafe-charger-stand) that users can easily see from afar. This will transform the smartphone into a smart information station that will keep the user in touch with important updates when the device isn't within reach. The iPhone StandBy mode will also prioritize power efficiency by taking advantage of the smartphone's low power display functionality. This will ensure the smartphone continues charging quickly, even when information is cycling on the display. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.3/10 - Popularity: 96% | Activity: 78% | Freshness: 16% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smartphone Standby Displays:** There is an opportunity for companies to create their own smartphone standby displays that enhance the user experience and provide essential information without compromising charging times. - **Low Power Display Technology:** Developing and implementing low power display technology offers an opportunity to improve battery efficiency in smartphones and other electronic devices. - **Wireless Charging Accessories:** The rise of MagSafe charging stands highlights a need for wireless charging accessories that can make smartphone usage more convenient and accessible while charging. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Mobile Device Accessories:** Companies that specialize in manufacturing mobile device accessories can benefit from creating innovative charging solutions and smartphone displays. - **Display Technology:** Display technology companies can benefit from developing low power display technologies that can be used in smartphones and other electronic devices. - **Smart Home Technology:** Smart home technology companies can benefit from designing wireless charging accessories that integrate with existing smart home ecosystems, offering convenience to users. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Computer Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elago-m4-charging-stand.md) - [Standing Multi-Device Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stand-one-max.md) - [Quick-Charge Smartphone Mounts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomad-stand-one-magsafe-charger.md) - [Stand-Equipped Smartphone Batteries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strickers-magsafe-power-bank.md) - [Contemporary Magnetic Device Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magsafe-charger-stand.md) - [Magnetic Fast-Charge Smartphone Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nomad-stand.md) - [Floating Monitor-Mounted Tech Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/line-linestand.md) - [Smartphone-Charging Smart Wallets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smartphonecharging-smart-wallets.md) - [Luxe Triple-Device Charging Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twelve-south-hirise-3-deluxe.md)
