The iPhone Photo Printer is the first printer that promises to deliver photo quality pictures good enough to frame. There's no need to plug it into the computer because the iPhone is where you control the actions. It also doesn't use ink cartridges and will print out 300 dpi resolution pictures with its "patented paper embedded with yellow, magenta, and cyan dye crystals," according to Hammacher Schlemmer. It's compact too, so it definitely won't take up too much space on the desk. The iPhone Photo Printer is compatible with [iPods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ipod-classic-iphone-17-case) as well as other Android phones. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Mobile Photo Printing:** Printing smartphone images on the go with portable printers. - **Inkless Printing:** Using dye crystals instead of ink cartridges for printing. - **Compact Photo Printing:** Portable printers that take up minimal desk space. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to provide on-the-spot photo printing services. - **Consumer Electronics:** Incorporating compact and inkless printing technology into mobile devices. - **Retail:** Offering portable photo printers as accessories for smartphones and other mobile devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artwork-Friendly Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-link-plus.md) - [Pocket-Sized Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-instant-photo-printer.md) - [App-Connected Photo Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hp-sprocket-studio-plus.md) - [Subtle Smartphone-Friendly Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-image-box.md) - [Portable Selfie Printer Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selphy-qx20.md) - [Digital-to-Analog Photo Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jollylook-eye.md) - [Instant Film Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-link-3.md) - [Ultra-Compact Photo Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultracompact-photo-printer.md) - [Portable Smartphone Camera Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-mini-link-2.md)
