After this, it breached its way to the UK, Germany, Ireland, and France shortly after -- now it prepares to launch in both New Zealand and Australia. The decision to expand to these locations is sue to the large wilderness areas in the countries that often lack cellular service. Australia's minister of communications, Michelle Rowland notes in a statement that "Australians know full well the importance of remaining connected in regional, rural, and remote areas, particularly when they need emergency services. The ability to contact Triple [Zero](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maingear-zero) with Emergency SOS via satellite when there is no mobile coverage is a strong backup to keep Australians connected in an emergency."
