# Adjustable Roofed Loungers 'Ipanema' Furniture Helps Create a Private and Calming Space By Ell Smith | Published 2017-07-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ipanema-furniture References: [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/53950949/Ipanema?tracking_source=curated_galleries_list) & [agotarim.eu](https://www.agotarim.eu/) The dynamic construction of 'Ipanema' furniture creates a private and calming space for loungers. The [lounge chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-series) is comprised of a [grated moving roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ensombra), that can shift forward and backward to provide as much coverage as the user pleases. The chair can provide subtle shade without obstructing a view, while also offering a private place to take a public poolside nap. The grated roof material provides a sense of seclusion without complete isolation, as the user is still able to see through the small holes. The form of the furniture is reminiscent of a giant leaf, and creates the illusion of laying under a palm tree. Ipanema furniture helps to slightly remove individuals from the public eye, making for the perfect beach or poolside accessory. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Adjustable Furniture:** The use of adjustable furniture pieces such as 'Ipanema' loungers with grated moving roofs provide customization and privacy options that can be adapted to consumer preference - **Privacy-enhancing Design:** 'Ipanema' loungers with grated moving roofs promote a sense of seclusion without complete isolation, a trend that can be applied to other forms of outdoor and indoor furniture - **Nature-inspired Furniture:** The leaf-like form of 'Ipanema' furniture creates a natural and calming ambiance, a trend that can be incorporated into designs for both indoor and outdoor areas ### Sectors Adopting This - **Outdoor Furniture:** 'Ipanema' loungers demonstrate a clear opportunity in the outdoor furniture industry for innovative designs that promote privacy and customization options - **Resort and Hospitality:** Resorts and hotel chains can benefit from utilizing 'Ipanema' loungers as part of their poolside furniture selection for added privacy and comfort options for guests - **Wellness and Relaxation:** 'Ipanema' loungers present an innovative opportunity in the wellness and relaxation industry for clients seeking privacy and outdoor lounge options as part of their experience ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modernized Water-Friendly Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soleil-adirondack-chair.md) - [Comfort-Focused Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-grapy-lounge-chair.md) - [Wellbeing-Harnessing Fan-Like Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanti-chair.md) - [Elegant Exterior Lounge Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lounge-bed.md) - [Outdoor Lounging Rocking Hammocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panama-banana.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md) - [Hammock-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palmera.md) - [Marine-Grade Sun Shades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shibumi-shade.md) - [Futuristic Rooftop Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ls24-lounge-system.md)
