Working with old or existing [iPads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maghub-3) or [iPhones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spycam), the system works by having the device docked in it. From here, users can connect wirelessly to the device from their smartphone to checkup on things or even stay notified if someone is detected within the home. The Z-Tech iPad Docking Station features a built-in battery pack for placing it in various spots around the home or even taking it outside, if desired. The device system also tracks faces, times and other details to keep users informed of what's happening at all times. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Device-based Security:** Opportunity to create innovative security systems with existing devices such as smartphones and tablets. - **Home Monitoring Technology:** There is potential for further growth in the integration of smart home security systems with mobile devices. - **Face Recognition Technology:** With advancements in face recognition technology, there is opportunity for more comprehensive and accurate monitoring systems. ### Where This Applies - **Home Security:** Companies in the home security industry can incorporate device-based solutions into their existing product lines. - **Consumer Electronics:** Technology companies can develop products to turn existing devices into smart home monitoring systems. - **Artificial Intelligence:** Advancements in AI can lead to more accurate and advanced face recognition technology for home monitoring systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mobile Device Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/usbc-stand-dock.md) - [Pocket-Sized Safety Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaze.md) - [Verstaile Tablet Docking Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maghub-3.md) - [Cellphone-Repurposing Applications](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alfredcamera.md) - [User-Tracking Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belkin-autotracking-stand-pro.md) - [Privacy-Focused Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/visio-wifi-camera-concept.md) - [Accessible Smart Security Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abode-cam-2.md) - [Port-Packed Technology Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dock-stand.md) - [Smartphone Retail Security Tags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/safe-tag.md)
