From servers, fiber networks and carrier hotels, the Invisible Networks photo series captures it all. An ongoing project by Shuli Hallak, a New York City based editorial and commercial photographer, the Invisible Networks photo series captures the [physical infrastructure of the Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spark-716) in order to show people that a lot of work is required to keep it running. Hallak states, "Words are meaningless without an actual symbol." Her series offers a bunch of them. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Internet Infrastructure Photography:** Photographic exploration of internet infrastructure highlights the need for physical infrastructure to support the digital world, presenting opportunities for innovation in sustainment and growth of telecommunications technology. - **Transparency in Network Operations:** Invisible Networks serves as a call for transparency and accountability from internet service providers, presenting opportunities for innovation in customer service and operational communication. - **Artistic Applications of Technical Imagery:** Invisible Networks highlights the beauty in technical infrastructure, presenting opportunities for innovation in artistic expression and product design in the telecommunications industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Telecommunications:** Invisible Networks highlights the critical role of physical infrastructure in supporting the digital world, presenting opportunities for innovation in expanding, improving, and maintaining telecommunications systems. - **Technology:** Invisible Networks brings attention to the technical infrastructure of the internet, presenting opportunities for innovation in network security, data storage, and network operation. - **Art & Design:** Invisible Networks exposes the artistic value in technical infrastructure, presenting opportunities for innovation in product design and visual communication in the telecommunications industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Artful Suspended Fashion Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-figures.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Intentional Online Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slow-internet.md) - [Thought-Provoking Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antibodies-installation.md) - [AR Infrastructure Lenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/augmented-reality-lens.md) - [Photography Project Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1.md)
