Although Panera Bread already offers free WiFi, the new move represents a greater effort to keep consumers connected while they are in the restaurant. The 'MiSeat' is an internet terminal and touchscreen system that is integrated directly into the table. The system consists of a keyboard, cursor control and a [wireless smartphone charger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/discreet-charging-station) that customers can use to juice up their devices while dining. This is not only convenient for consumers, but it also enables them to place an order from anywhere in the restaurant and have it delivered directly to their table. In addition to the restaurant's new [kiosk ordering system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mr-pickles-sandwich-shop), the internet-connected terminal tables help to increase connectivity and improve the overall in-store experience. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Business](https://www.trendhunter.com/business) > [Retail](https://www.trendhunter.com/retail) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Internet Terminal Tables:** The integration of internet terminals and charging stations into restaurant tables offers a seamless dining experience and opportunities for interactive ordering and delivery systems. - **In-store Connectivity:** Providing internet terminals at restaurant tables enhances customer connectivity and improves the overall in-store experience by allowing customers to place orders and charge their devices while dining. - **Service-based Innovation:** The introduction of internet-connected tables with charging stations showcases Panera Bread's commitment to innovation and providing exceptional service to its customers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Restaurant Industry:** Restaurants can explore the integration of internet terminals and charging stations at tables to enhance customer experience and streamline ordering processes. - **Technology Industry:** The technology industry can develop improved internet terminals and charging systems for restaurant tables to fulfill the growing demand for seamless connectivity in dining establishments. - **Hospitality Industry:** Hotels and other hospitality establishments can adopt internet-connected tables with charging stations to enhance guest experience and offer convenient services such as interactive ordering and device charging. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Digitally Led Bakery-Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bakerycafe.md) - [Self-Ordering Table Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gotab.md) - [Interactive Digital Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tabmeal.md) - [AI-Powered Drive-Throughs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tori-ai.md) - [Smartphone-Charging Lemonade Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panera-charged-up-cup.md) - [Technology-Enhanced QSR Chains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pos-2.md) - [Intuitive Self-Service Order Kiosks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfordering-kiosks.md) - [Connected Restaurant Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/TCx-M11.md) - [Tech-Friendly Beach Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tech-friendly-beach-chair.md)
