The feature is specially design to change resolution settings so that less data is used when streaming media. One way data can easily be consumed is through watching media in higher resolution formats, which is why the 'Data Saver' feature helps keep a watchful eye to ensure the resolution is always lowered. This ensures consumers can still stream their favorite videos and media without going beyond their data cap. The loading time remains quick and efficient, while the automatic subtle decrease in resolution greatly decreases data use. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Data-saving Internet Extensions:** Google Chrome's 'Data Saver' extension helps reduce data usage. - **Video Resolution Optimization:** Lowering resolution of videos can be a solution to reduce data usage. - **Efficient Media Streaming:** Efficient media streaming can help reduce data usage. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Internet Browsers:** Internet browsers can develop extensions that help reduce data usage. - **Streaming Services:** Streaming services can incorporate data-saving features to help customers stay within their data caps. - **Mobile Carriers:** Mobile carriers can partner with internet browsers and streaming services to promote data-saving technology. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Web Data Captures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/add-to-sheets1.md) - [No-Network Dependent Browsing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/helpful-suggestions.md) - [Streaming Service Intro Skippers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autoskippy.md) - [Time-Limiting Browser Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/browsetimelimit.md) - [Mindful Browsing Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/creator-mode.md) - [Improved Browser Navigation Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omni-extension.md) - [Money-Saving Shopping Extensions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karma.md) - [AI-Powered Video Downloaders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-downloads.md) - [Elevated AI Search Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chrome-browser.md)
