The beautiful mural shows a melancholy young woman in profile. She clutches a piece of traditionally embroidered Ukrainian clothing, but appears to be wearing modern apparel. Guido van Helten is responsible for a number of other pieces of similar international street art. His works always include [realistically drawn portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-portraits), sometimes painted from photographs. His subjects range from celebrities to historical images of children in wartime, but they are always depicted with sensitivity, and always wear unsmiling, contemplative expressions. The majority of van Helten's works are located in Melbourne, but they have been commissioned and painted in locations as far-flung as Denmark, Ireland and Texas. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 83% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Graffiti](https://www.trendhunter.com/graffiti) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Realistic Portrait Murals:** Artists could create realistic portrait murals on the sides of high-rise buildings around the world to capture the attention of city dwellers and increase tourism. - **International Street Art:** Businesses seeking to attract young and unconventional customers could commission international street artists to create murals, graffiti, and other forms of street art on their properties. - **Artistic Sensitivity:** Art museums and galleries could collaborate with artists who paint realistically drawn portraits to create exhibits that focus on the importance of artistic sensitivity in capturing the essence and emotions of individuals. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art Galleries:** Art galleries could thrive by showcasing international street artists who create murals inspired by realistic portraits and depicting significant historical, cultural, and social events around the world. - **Tourism:** Tourist companies could offer street art tours to show off the latest international street art murals as a unique way to explore cities around the world and learn about the urban art scene. - **Advertising:** Advertising firms could use realistic portrait murals painted by international street artists as an outlet to promote their message, brand or product on the streets and highways to reach more people. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Distorted Furniture Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-kiss-at-last-light.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Bubblegum Street Art Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hubbabubbabuilding.md) - [Optical Illusion Replica Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liberty-science-center.md) - [Interactive Summer Murals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jacquie-comrie.md) - [Street Art-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/met-rooftop.md) - [Augmented Reality Travel Murals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/travel-murals.md)
