# Contemporary Copper Lighting The Interioricity Lamp Looks Like a Minimalist Critter By Meghan Young | Published 2012-05-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interioricity-lamp References: [trendsnow.net](http://www.trendsnow.net/2012/05/the-interioricity-lamp.html) & [zwei21.wordpress](http://zwei21.wordpress.com/) Modern and minimalist, the Interioricity Lamp is nevertheless full of character. The way its copper body is perched on [thin, spidery legs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phantom-lighting) gives the design an insect-like look that is more endearing than repulsive. As though frightened by its own shadow, the body of the Interioricity Lamp leans back in a dramatically adorable way. With this in mind, it is hard to be afraid of such a 'critter.' The Interioricity Lamp was created by zwei21, a design studio based in Coburg, Germany. A great alternative to the [traditional task lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light), it is especially useful when shining a direct light on reading materials, personal projects and more. The [cylindrical body](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pose-lighting) is complemented by a textile cord that connects to two other light sources. This allows a workspace to be lit up from various locations. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Contemporary Copper Lighting:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Create unique and modern lighting designs using copper materials and minimalist aesthetics. - **Minimalist Critter Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Incorporate insect-like characteristics into minimalist product designs for a unique and adorable aesthetic. - **Flexible Workspace Lighting:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Develop lighting solutions that offer flexibility by allowing multiple light sources to be connected and positioned for optimal workspace illumination. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Introduce contemporary copper lighting designs to enhance interior spaces with modern aesthetics. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Offer minimalist critter-inspired lighting products as unique and stylish home decor items. - **Product Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation: Design innovative lighting solutions that provide flexible lighting options for various workspaces and personal projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stunningly Minimalist Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-lighting-design.md) - [Weighted Multi-Position Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-desk-lamp-design.md) - [Minimalist Mysterious Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auge-light-mini.md) - [Sleek Contemporary Metal-Encased Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Customizable Industrial Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pi-modular-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md)
