# Abtrusively Assembled Cabinets This Interesting Cabinet Design by Carvolth Myticizes Living Spaces By Simal Yilmaz | Published 2013-02-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interesting-cabinet-design References: [artnau](http://www.artnau.com/2013/01/cabinet-andrew-brian-carvolth/) & [andrewcarvolth.tumblr](http://andrewcarvolth.tumblr.com/) This interesting [cabinet design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuff-pencil-cabinet) is by artist Andrew Brian Carvolth. It is well-crafted and quite durable, and yet the functionality of the [stool-like design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-and-chair) seems like an offering for a niche taste in furniture. It is certainly suspicious looking and quite intriguing, a type of item one would want to ask the host to take a look at, the contents presumably hiding a great mystery. It is certainly an artistic item, targeted for an unconventional audience. The Cabinet is a piece that can be visually appealing at an entrance or a hall. I would be very impressed to see it suit a living room but in terms of common rooms, an [artistic studio apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apt-drawers) would pull the mystery and the quirk off quite well. Andrew’s Cabinet is minimal, abstruse as well as comely. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Minimalist Furniture Designs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore ways to create minimalist furniture designs that blend functionality with a touch of mystery. - **Niche Taste in Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Cater to a niche audience by designing furniture pieces that offer unconventional and intriguing aesthetics. - **Artistic Studio Apartments:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop furniture designs specifically tailored for artistic studio apartments that embrace minimalism and quirkiness. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Rethink traditional furniture designs and create innovative pieces that appeal to niche markets. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate minimalist and mysterious furniture designs into interior design trends to create unique and captivating living spaces. - **Art and Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Merge art and home decor by designing furniture pieces that serve as artistic statements, bringing intrigue and style to living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cabinet-Concealed Modern Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3.md) - [Minimal Four-Legged Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exposure-cabinet.md) - [Thoughtful Wheeling Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet-on-wheels.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Modular Configured Office Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet.md) - [Abstract Jigsaw-Like Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spectator-shelf.md) - [Tropical Island-Inspired Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet.md) - [Sandbox-Like Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet1.md) - [Stylish Oakwood Storage Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moose-cabinet.md)
