# Multitasking Intercom Systems The Nucleus is An Intercom, Family Phone and Security Alert Device By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2015-10-16 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intercom-system References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/nucleus-family-communication-system/39850/) & [nucleuslife](http://nucleuslife.com/) The Nucleus is a [family intercom system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karri) that brings together a family phone, intercom, video chat device and [security alert system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-emergency-alert-system). In other words, this device can be used to communicate with a partner upstairs, chat on the phone with a relative who lives far away or get in touch with a family member who's loitering in the backyard to let them know to come inside for dinner. This intercom system is custom designed, making it faster than other similar solutions -- thanks largely to the use of proprietary hardware and software. As an added bonus, the Nucleus also works with various [smart home products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-home-management-system) such as the Nest, SmartThings and iControl, and can be used as a connected home-managing interface. The main advantage with this intercom system is that it does so much more than simply work as an intercom, but does so from a single easy-to-use package. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 2% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multifunctional Intercom Systems:** The Nucleus intercom system combines multiple communication and security functions, creating opportunities for innovative and versatile home devices. - **Custom Designed Hardware and Software:** The Nucleus system's proprietary hardware and software enable faster and more efficient communication, paving the way for disruptive innovations in intercom technology. - **Integration with Smart Home Products:** The Nucleus intercom system's compatibility with various smart home products creates opportunities for seamless and unified home management solutions. ### Where This Applies - **Home Automation Industry:** The Nucleus intercom system's integration with smart home devices opens up opportunities for disruption in the home automation industry. - **Communication Technology Industry:** The Nucleus system's multifunctionality and custom design present possibilities for disruptive innovations in the communication technology industry. - **Security Technology Industry:** The Nucleus intercom system's security alert capabilities offer potential for disruptive innovations in the security technology industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connected Rental Video Intercoms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ring-intercom-video.md) - [Home Security Baby Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-monitor-and-doorbell.md) - [Voice Access Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voiceactivated-building.md) - [WFH Communication Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-communication-device.md) - [Professional Wireless Intercom Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-intercom-solution.md) - [Sleek Smart Doorbell Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/g410-hub.md) - [Multilingual Communication Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/x1-ai-interpreter-hub.md) - [AI-Powered Touchscreen Doorbell Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchscreen-doorbell.md) - [Affordable Multi-Room Speaker Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dio-node.md)
