# Chromatic Instant Film Borders The New Instant Film for the Instax Mini Comes in Different Colors By Joey Haar | Published 2016-10-25 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-mini References: [digitaltrends](http://www.digitaltrends.com/photography/fujifilm-instax-mini-film-packs-black-sky-blue/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [fujifilm](http://www.fujifilm.ca/products/instax/film/mini/) The [Instax Mini](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-mini-link-2) is a film camera from [Fujifilm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-mini-99) that revives the nostalgic instant photography popularized by Polaroid in decades past. Those film cameras, with which consumers can snap a picture and immediately get a printout of the image, have distinctive, bordered photo slides, and Fujifilm is capitalizing on that look with their new cartridges for the Instax Mini. The borders of the new Instax Mini film slides were originally only available in standard white, but the company now offers 'Black' and 'Sky Blue' borders. The decision to release these stylized borders likely comes in response to the popularity of nostalgic filters on social media sites like [Instagram](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instapocket). Though film is somewhat more restrictive in terms of style, colored borders give consumers the opportunity to express themselves beyond the content of the pictures themselves. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Colored Instant Film Borders:** Fujifilm could expand their line of Chromatic Instant Film Borders to include more colors and designs, opening up opportunities for personalized and creative instant photography. - **Nostalgic Filters:** Other camera and photo app companies could capitalize on the nostalgia trend by offering filters and borders that mimic the look of old-school photography. - **Personalized Instant Photography:** Companies could tap into the desire for personalized instant photography by offering customizable borders and designs for film and instant cameras. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** The instant photography industry could benefit from offering new and unique options for film borders and styles, targeting nostalgic and creative consumers. - **Social Media:** Social media platforms could integrate filters and borders that mimic the look of old-school photography, tapping into consumers' desire for nostalgia and vintage aesthetics. - **Printable Products:** Companies in the printable products industry could enter the instant photography space by offering customizable paper and film options for instant cameras, including borders and designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vintage-Inspired Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-mini-99.md) - [Retro Instant Polaroid Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-sq40.md) - [Celebratory Photography Camera Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-evo-camera.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-evo-cinema.md) - [Hybrid Mini Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybrid-mini-instant-cameras.md) - [Digital-Film Hybrid Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm.md) - [Versatile Effortless Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-41-instant-camera.md) - [Instant Film Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-link-3.md) - [Portable Smartphone Camera Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instax-mini-link-2.md)
