A fun [do-it-yourself craft](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/incense-holder-kit) that can be done in time for holiday hosting, it requires styrofoam balls, [scrap fabric](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crochet-collection), some straight pins and, of course, a bit of patience. Created by Atlanta-based freelance artist and jewelry maker Kristina Ackerman of Knuckle Salad, the Instant Artichokes easily fit into any home because people have full control over color and pattern. Not to mention that the Instant Artichokes are better than [fake apples and pears](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-grounds). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **DIY Vegetable Crafts:** DIY craft projects that emulate vegetables as decoration or art. - **Personalized Home Decor:** Trend of customizing home decor items like the Instant Artichokes project. - **Sustainable Crafting:** Emphasis on using repurposed or eco-friendly materials for DIY projects like the Instant Artichokes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Arts and Crafts Stores:** Opportunity to provide DIY crafting materials for vegetable-inspired decor projects like the Instant Artichokes. - **Home Decor Retailers:** Opportunity to offer personalized, unique decor items like the Instant Artichokes. - **Sustainable and Eco-friendly Retailers:** Opportunity to market eco-friendly materials and supplies for sustainable crafting projects like the Instant Artichokes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Microwaveable Artichoke Packs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fresh-artichoke-hearts.md) - [Artichoke-Based Meat Alternatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cutting-vedge1.md) - [Crystal Floral Arrangement Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-crystal-floral-kits.md) - [DIY Embroidery Ornaments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-stitched-ornament-kits.md) - [Avant-Garde Radish Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/radish-hat.md) - [Crispy Artichoke Chips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artichoke-chips.md) - [Artichoke-Based Meatless Alternatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cutting-vedge.md) - [Edible Holiday Decorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edible-holiday-decoration.md) - [Sophisticated Upcycled Home Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures.md)
