A new installation with inflatable seating has taken over Fondation d’Entreprise Martell and is designed for summertime lounging.
The airy structure is comprised of translucent material and striking yellow inflatable seating, creating a glowing aura when viewed from above. The material used is a mixture of polyester and fiberglass and relies on its steel framework to stay in place. The design is reminiscent of a slithering reptilian. It weaves up and down, attracting visitors to "sit, lean, or stretch out inside the pavilion’s roomy curves." The daylight reflects against the translucent material creating a different environment during the day, than at night.
This installation is an example of an art piece with longevity as it's a prefab structure and can be moved around the world on a whim.
