The expanded list of retailers will bump up the acceptance of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefit recipients to more than 170 retail banners across more than 14,000 stores. This could help to greatly expand access to quality food for Americans on SNAP benefits who might not have easy access to retailers due to distance or time constraints. Vice President and General Manager of [Instacart Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instacart-health) commented on the expansion of Instacart and SNAP saying, "We’re committed to offering families access to fresh food through an accessible and affordable online shopping and delivery experience. By expanding with retailers, we're giving SNAP families greater dignity of choice, and helping many experience—for the first time—the convenience of having groceries from these retailers delivered to their doorstep." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 21% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Business](https://www.trendhunter.com/business) > [Retail](https://www.trendhunter.com/retail) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Expanded Same-day Delivery:** The expansion of Instacart and SNAP will provide same-day delivery for recipients of SNAP benefits, giving them greater convenience and access to quality food. - **Increased Retail Acceptance:** With more than 170 retail banners across over 14,000 stores accepting SNAP benefits, recipients will have a wider range of options to choose from for their grocery needs. - **Improved Access to Fresh Food:** Instacart and SNAP's expansion aims to address the lack of access to quality food for Americans on SNAP benefits, ensuring that they can easily obtain fresh groceries from a variety of retailers. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Online Grocery Delivery:** The expansion of Instacart and SNAP presents opportunities for the online grocery delivery industry to cater specifically to SNAP benefit recipients, providing them with a seamless shopping and delivery experience. - **Retail:** The increased acceptance of SNAP benefits by a wide range of retailers creates potential for growth and profitability within the retail industry, as it opens up a new customer segment. - **Food and Beverage:** The expanded access to quality food for SNAP benefit recipients through Instacart and SNAP creates opportunities for the food and beverage industry to tap into a previously underserved market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Accessible Online Retail Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instacart-and-walgreens.md) - [Low-Cost Grocery Delivery Memberships](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instacart-discounted-membership.md) - [Grocery Delivery Payment Updates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snapebt-online-payments.md) - [Nutritional Assistance Retail Partnerships](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raleys-and-instacart.md) - [Speedy Same-Day Grocery Deliveries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instacart-and-giant-eagle.md) - [Rapid Grocery Delivery Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grocery-delivery-service1.md) - [Online Grocery Equity Initiatives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/broulims-fresh-foods.md) - [Speedy Grocery Store Deliveries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schnucks-now.md) - [Veteran-Supporting Grocery Deliveries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/instacart-pilot-program.md)
