# Cranial Incandescent Illuminators Insight Lamp by Igor Solovyov is a Bright Idea By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-03-11 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insight-lamp-by-igor-solovyov References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2011/03/Insight.html) & [coroflot](http://www.coroflot.com/igorsolovyov/lighting/8) The appearance of a lightbulb in cartoons has long been the symbol of an intelligent epiphany, but the Insight Lamp by Igor Solovyov gives the eureka moment to a more literal form in this brain-shaped bulb. The industrial designer has developed an extensive portfolio of concepts, from [furniture and packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp) to electronics and lighting. This particular project builds upon the [iconic image](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miror-collection) of the spiraling [energy efficient light globe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-bulb), but instead, the creative has taken the twisting tubular shape to form two mirrored halves of the cranial lobes. The squiggly fluorescent channels create the unmistakable appearance of the human brain. Inspired by, and in encouragement of those rare and brilliant moments of wisdom, the Insight Lamp by Igor Solovyov will light up your room and the dark corners of your brain. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Brain Shaped Lighting:** Brain-shaped lighting fixtures are becoming popular as designers infuse creativity into lighting technology. - **Sculptural Lighting:** Sculptural lighting fixtures are becoming more common as designers redefine the purpose of lighting technology. - **Creative Illuminators:** Creative illuminators are becoming more prevalent as designers experiment with the form and function of lighting technology. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Interior design companies can take advantage of brain-shaped lighting fixtures to add a unique touch to their projects. - **Lighting:** Lighting companies can incorporate sculptural lighting fixtures into their product lines to appeal to customers looking for unique designs. - **Product Design:** Product design firms can explore the creative potential of illuminators to inspire new forms of lighting technology. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Sensory Relaxation Smart Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/idiya-smart-lamp.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Planetary Dual-Illumination Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbis-lamp.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Ethereal Space-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wormhole-table-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Incense-Mimicking Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/incense-lamp.md) - [Air Balloon-Inspired Lamp Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-balloon-lamp.md)
