# Insidious Still Lifes Geliografic Mixes Flowers with Machine Guns By lourdes sanchez bayas | Published 2009-04-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insidious-still-life-paintings-geliografic-mixes-flowers-with-machine-guns References: [lunaticadesnuda.blogspot](http://lunaticadesnuda.blogspot.com/2009/04/machine-guns-and-beautiful-flowers.html) & [geliografic](http://www.geliografic.com/gallery.php?theme=5) Still life art depicts everyday objects such as [flowers, food, plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany), etc which are beautifully and harmoniously arranged on tables or other surfaces. Geliografic offers us a very radical and insidious visual of digital still life paintings depicting [machine guns, grenades, bombs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness) and other weapons side by side with the harmless and [gentle motifs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kill-them-with-kindness). Needless to say, this represents a complete subversion of the genre that I personally find somewhat disturbing but very attractive at the same time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 19% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Insidious Art:** The trend of creating unsettling and thought-provoking art pieces that subvert traditional genres and challenge viewers' perceptions. - **Digital Still Life:** The growing trend of using digital tools to create intricate and detailed still life compositions, blending real and imagined elements. - **Brutal Beauty:** The trend of depicting weapons and other violent objects in visually stunning and attractive ways, creating a paradoxical effect. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can capitalize on the trend of creating disruptive and provocative art pieces that challenge traditional notions of beauty and harmony. - **Digital Media:** The digital media industry can explore the potential of digital tools and software to create intricate and detailed still life compositions that push the boundaries of what is possible. - **Military and Defense:** The military and defense industry can leverage the trend of portraying weapons and other violent objects in visually stunning ways to showcase their power and capabilities to potential customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stone Floral Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lithic-bloom.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Artsy Surrealist Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gohar-world.md) - [Fluid Function Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-flow.md) - [Sculptural Surveillance Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-surveillance.md) - [Archival Pigment Art Print](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parallax.md)
