# Insects From Found Objects Insect Art by Chris Goodwin By Pearl | Published 2008-08-23 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insects-from-found-objects-insect-art-by-chris-goodwin References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/12761/) & [goodwinillustration](http://www.goodwinillustration.com/) Chris Goodwin made these little [insect sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog) out of [found objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures) - anything from screws to razor blades. One of these bugs could take him about four hours to figure out how to fit the pieces together without any adhesive. He says, “ I like to think of them as high maintenance, exotic pets. Ornamental and not for snuggling.” That is understandable especially with the insect made from sharp objects! Chris Goodwin is a multi-talented artist based in Boston. You can see more of his bug collection, how he made them as well as his other artwork on [his Flickr site](http://www.flickr.com/photos/eselkunst/). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 58% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Found Object Sculptures:** Opportunity to disrupt traditional art creation by using unconventional materials - **Insect Art:** Innovative use of insects as a subject matter in art - **Upcycling:** Sustainable trend of repurposing discarded objects for artistic expression ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Sculpture:** Industry to embrace unconventional material and repurposing trends - **Environmental Conservation:** Industry to promote upcycling and minimize waste - **Home Decor:** Creating demand for sustainable and eco-friendly art and decor ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Life-Sized Puzzled Insect Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-collection.md) - [Bug-Inspired Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/murder-hornet-ring.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Mealworm-Inspired 3D-Printed Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digested-objects.md) - [Science-Backed Wooden Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seed-stories.md) - [Abandoned Bikes-Turned Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-from-frames.md) - [Insect-Like Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-mantis-chair.md) - [Playful Accent Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bug-table.md)
