The lamps, clearly inspired by a caterpillar, and perhaps also a woolly bear, have been manufactured by Bomania DesignworX in both [floor and pendant models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light). The [pendant version](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warp-lamp), even more metaphorical with its twisting shape, looks like the insect has been caught in the act of spinning its cocoon. Here's an excerpt of a poem written by the designer which inspired the CaterpLight: **Implications** - The Caterplight will not do one that and that is for sure -- take flight. This is a bold and original creation by the Singapore-based designer Bacus Boo. Keep your eye out for him in the future. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Insect-inspired Lighting:** The Caterplight light fixtures by Bacus Boo are a unique example of insect-inspired lighting design. - **Metaphorical Pendant Lighting:** The pendant version of the Caterplight is a metaphorical representation of a caterpillar spinning its cocoon. - **Bold and Original Creations:** The Caterplight is a bold and original creation that showcases Bacus Boo's innovative design approach. ### Where This Applies - **Lighting Design:** The Caterplight highlights opportunities in the lighting design industry for unique and unconventional designs. - **Home Decor:** The Caterplight caters to the home decor industry, offering a distinctive and conversation-starting lighting option. - **Artisanal Manufacturing:** The manufacturing of the Caterplight by Bomania DesignworX exemplifies the potential for artisanal manufacturing in the lighting industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Kinetic Insect Sculpture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dragonfly-balance-light.md) - [Plant Pod-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-inspired-pendant-light.md) - [Baked Good-Inspired Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant.md) - [Organic Light Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapso.md) - [Hat-Like Fabric Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-lamp.md) - [Pasta-Inspired Curvaceous Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic-lamp.md) - [Metal Thread Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Bakery-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant-light.md)
