# Insect Infested Dishware Ant Covered Plates by Re Jin Lee By Elsa Blaine | Published 2008-08-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-infested-dishware-ant-covered-plates-by-re-jin-lee References: [yatzer](http://www.yatzer.com/postDetails.php?post=1217) Thank goodness Re Jin Lee’s [hand painted vintage plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/killer-napkins) are intended for decorative purposes only. Can you imagine trying to eat a meal off of one of them? Ants crawling around under your lettuce would be less than appetizing. At a picnic, you wouldn’t be able to tell the real critters from the painted ones. Then again, perhaps the plates would work as a deterrent to the real ants. Re Jin Lee started her New York based company, Bailey Doesn’t Bart, as an outlet for her artistic creations. Currently she is applying her talents painting on ceramic, but intends to broaden her line to include stationary and clothing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Hand Painted Decorative Plates:** Opportunity for artists to create hand-painted plates as unique decorative items. - **Insect-inspired Art:** Potential for artists to create insect-themed artwork and products for decorative purposes. - **Integration of Art and Home Decor:** Emerging trend of incorporating artistic elements into everyday objects for aesthetic appeal. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Craft:** Artists and artisans creating hand-painted decorative items for home decor. - **Home Decor:** Companies specializing in unique and artistic home decor products. - **Fashion and Design:** Artists expanding their artistic talents to include clothing and stationary products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Handmade Dessert Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carolina-k.md) - [PB&J-Inspired Sandwich Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pbj-inspired-sandwich-plates.md) - [Luxurious Patterned Ceramic Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patterned-ceramic-plates.md) - [Colorful Enamelware Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-tigress.md) - [Hand-Painted Ceramic Plate Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/destree-x-cabana.md) - [Sin-Inspired Artful Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sinful-feast.md) - [Artsy Surrealist Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gohar-world.md) - [Aquatic Plant-Inspired Kitchenware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lilypad-cake-stand.md) - [Revived Mid-Century Serveware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortugaware.md)
