# Natural Habitat Seating Martin Azua's Inner Life Chair Acts as a Home for Animals and Plants By Meghan Young | Published 2011-06-21 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inner-life-chair References: [designbuzz](http://www.designbuzz.com/entry/become-a-nature-lover-with-the-inner-life-chair/) & [martinazua](http://www.martinazua.com/cas/inicio/) The Inner Life Chair is yet another piece of furniture that bridges the gap between man-made products and natural habitats. A simple, yet stunning sanctuary for all living creatures, it can be a home for animals and plants as well as tushes of all shapes and sizes. Created by Martin Azua, the Inner Life Chair is an eco-friendly furniture piece that boasts a planter that allows foliage to grow from its side and a hollow space in the back that offers animals such as tortoise, pups and kittens a safe and comfortable shelter. Exquisitely unique, the Inner Life Chair brings a touch of the outdoors in while also providing a practical piece of furniture at the same time. I love that its minimal look lets the greenery really pop out. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Eco-friendly Furniture:** The trend of eco-friendly furniture is creating opportunities for designers to incorporate elements of nature into their designs. - **Biophilic Design:** The trend of biophilic design focuses on bringing natural elements into indoor spaces, creating opportunities for furniture that supports plant life and animal habitats. - **Minimalist Greenery:** The trend of minimalist greenery encourages the use of simple furniture designs that allow plants to be the focal point, presenting opportunities for innovative seating with integrated planters. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can explore opportunities to create eco-friendly and biophilic furniture pieces that provide functionality while supporting natural habitats. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can benefit from the trend of incorporating nature into indoor spaces, by offering furniture pieces that integrate plants and support animal habitats. - **Sustainable Living:** The sustainable living industry can capitalize on the trend of minimalist greenery by promoting furniture designs that encourage the use of plants in interior spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Terrarium Stool Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wild-stool.md) - [Plant-Based Dynamic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chiachair.md) - [Sprouting Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-chair-on-grass.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-chair-design.md) - [Posh Pet-Friendly Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quella-chair.md) - [Naturalistic Public Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-ark-outdoor-seat.md) - [Wellbeing-Harnessing Fan-Like Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanti-chair.md) - [Plant-Friendly Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jcp-universe-coloniae.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md)
