Sometimes applying the aged look to new furniture can have kitschy results but the technique succeeds greatly in the Inheritance Collection by Steve Kenn and his wife. No doubt this has something to do with the genuine threadbare appearance of the army green upholstery.

The cushions and backrests that make the couch, the loveseat, the chaise lounge, the chair and the ottoman comfortable have actually been sewn from the washed and softened fabric of US Military half shelters. The textiles still feature off-centered original seams and metal grommets but have been fluffed up to form [thick rectangular pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sander-series) supported by bespoke welded steel frames.

To give the potentially [hard seating objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bultan-chair) a bit of flexibility, the Inheritance Collection pieces incorporate WWII Swiss mule belt replicas for the suspension of the cushions. These can later be tightened as the bands gradually stretch.
